Needle is Arya Stark’s (Arya’s) signature sword in *A Song of Ice and Fire* (*Game of Thrones*).

– Type: Fine steel one-handed short sword (rapier/swift sword)

– Origin: Jon Snow commissioned Miken, the blacksmith of Winterfell, to forge it as a parting gift for Arya before leaving for the Night’s Watch.

– Name Origin: Arya disliked sewing and deliberately gave this slender sword the ironic name “Needle.”

– Characteristics: Slender, lightweight, and perfectly balanced, suitable for thrusting, not ideal for slashing, matching Arya’s petite frame and her “water dancer” swordsmanship.
